2025 SPRING RECREATION SOFTBALL
Recreational softball league with games against teams from Long Hill, Somerset Hills, and Warren.
Open to anyone who resides or attends school in Basking Ridge or Far Hills.
Rec softball season is from March 24 through June 15.
ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!

Softball Divisions (based on grade)
PIGTAILS: Kindergarten & 1st graders (coach pitch only, games in Basking Ridge, Somerset Hills, or Warren). Games Friday/Saturday.
MINORS: 2nd & 3rd graders (combination of coach and kid pitch). Games Monday/Wednesday/Saturday.
MAJORS: 4th & 5th graders (kid pitch). Games Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.
SENIORS: 6th, 7th, & 8th graders (kid pitch).
Schedule Overview
Pigtails will have 1-2 practice/game days per week for Pigtails (Fridays/Saturdays)
Minors/Majors/Seniors will have a practice the last week of March and 2x/week practices in April; 1x practices in May; practices in June to be determined by the coach. 2-3 games per week; limited practices once games begin. Home games in Basking Ridge. Away games in Long Hill, Warren, or Somerset Hills.
Registration Fee and Work Bond
Pigtails: $150 registration fee. Registration closes February 21, 2025.
* Pigtails registration fee includes full uniform (pants, jersey, and socks), field and game costs, and insurance.
Minors, Majors, & Seniors: $245 early bird registration fee before February 7; $300 fee after February 7. Registration closes February 21, 2025.
* Minors/Majors/Seniors registration fee includes uniform (jersey and socks), field and game costs, and insurance. Black softball pants must be purchased separately.
Minors, Majors, & Seniors also will be charged a $100 work bond per family. The work bond will be due via a post-dated check when uniforms are issued, and will be returned after completion of two hours volunteer time. The work bond/volunteer requirement is necessary to support our growing program.
Eligible activities for Work Bond reimbursements are:
Spring Field Prep (2 hours)
Registration Signs Setup/Clean Up (2 hours)
Team Roles
Rec/Travel Coaching (4 coaches max per team)
Team coordinator (1 per team)
Team score keeper (1-2 per team for the entire season)
Team field prepper (1-2 per team for the entire season)
Snack Stand
Softball Day
Other volunteer opportunities may be added
